Quick answer
For a team of 5 to 25, the cheapest hosted CRMs on our read date were Freshsales Growth and Twenty Cloud Pro at $9 per seat per month on annual billing. HubSpot is free for up to 2 users, then $20 per seat at list price. Attio's Plus plan costs $35 per seat but stops at 10 seats. Twenty and EspoCRM can also be self-hosted with no licence fee.
Most small teams choose a CRM by looking at the free tier and the cheapest paid plan. Neither tells you much about the bill once you have hired your fifth or eleventh person, which is when seat caps, minimums and plan jumps start to matter. This comparison prices five CRMs at three real team sizes, using only figures printed on each vendor's own pricing page on 27 October 2026.
How we priced them
Each cost below is the cheapest plan that allows the stated number of seats, on annual billing where the vendor prints an annual price, before tax and add-ons. We used list prices, not introductory offers limited to new customers. Where a vendor did not label a figure as annual or monthly, we say so. Nobody paid to be included, and no product here has been tested hands-on by us yet. The method page explains both rules.
| CRM | Free tier | 5 seats | 10 seats | 25 seats | Self-host |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | Up to 2 users | $100 (Starter) | $200 | $500 | No |
| Attio | Up to 3 seats | $175 (Plus) | $350 | $1,975 (Pro) | No |
| Freshsales | Not confirmed | $45 (Growth) | $90 | $225 | No |
| Twenty | Self-host only | $45 (Cloud Pro) | $90 | $225 | Yes, AGPL |
| EspoCRM | Self-host only | $75 (Cloud Basic) | $150 | $375 | Yes, AGPL |
Monthly cost per team, US dollars. The full profiles carry every plan we read: HubSpot, Attio and Twenty.
HubSpot
HubSpot's free CRM allows up to 2 users, 1,000 contacts and 1,000 records for each other standard object. That makes it the obvious starting point for a founder and one colleague. Starter lists at $20 per seat per month. On our read date the page also advertised Starter from $7 per seat for new customers. We use the list price because the offer is not open to everyone and has no stated end date.
The jump to Professional is the one to plan for. The Sales Hub pricing page shows Professional at $90 or $100 per seat per month, depending on billing period, plus a required one-time onboarding fee of $1,500. A 10-person team moving from Starter to Professional goes from $200 to at least $900 a month.
Best for: teams of one or two who want to start free, and teams that will run marketing email from the CRM.
Attio
Attio prints both billing periods and its caps clearly. Free covers up to 3 seats and 50,000 records. Plus costs $35 per seat annually ($44 monthly) and stops at 10 seats. Pro costs $79 annually ($99 monthly) with no cap. AI features run on monthly credits per seat and per workspace.
The 10-seat cap on Plus shapes the decision. A team that expects to grow past 10 within a contract term should price Pro from the start: $1,975 a month at 25 seats.
Best for: teams of up to 10 that track relationships beyond a sales pipeline, such as investors, partners or candidates.
Freshsales
Freshworks lists Freshsales at $9 (Growth), $39 (Pro) and $59 (Enterprise) per user per month, billed annually. The page's monthly figures and the limits of the free plan mentioned in its description were not visible in the text we read, so we have not quoted them. A 21-day trial is offered.
At $9 a seat, Growth ties for the lowest hosted price in this comparison. Freshworks also sells AI agent sessions and branded documents as paid add-ons, so check which features you need against the plan list.
Best for: sales teams that want the lowest hosted entry price and work mostly by phone and email.
Which CRMs can you run on your own server?
Two of the five publish their code under the GNU Affero General Public License.
Twenty
Twenty's licence file says the project is "mostly licensed" under AGPLv3, with some files marked @license Enterprise under a commercial licence. The open-source core is free to self-host. The hosted cloud costs $9 per user per month for Pro and $19 for Organization on yearly billing, with Enterprise from $50,000 a year. Cloud Pro limits API calls to 50 a minute.
EspoCRM
EspoCRM's repository states it is "licensed under GNU AGPLv3", and the software is a free download. Its cloud has seat minimums: Basic at $15 per user per month for at least 3 users, Enterprise at $25 for at least 5, and Ultimate at $69 for at least 10. The cloud is billed for 6 or 12 months at a time, and daily backups are kept for 7 days.
Self-hosting removes the per-seat bill, not the cost. Someone has to run the server, the database, updates and backups. Our hosting category compares servers from $4 a month and an open-source deployment panel that makes running several self-hosted tools more manageable.
Which one fits your team?
- Two people, starting out: HubSpot free or Attio free.
- Five to ten people, lowest cost: Freshsales Growth or Twenty Cloud Pro, both $9 per seat.
- Up to ten people modelling custom records: Attio Plus, but price Pro if you might reach 11.
- Any size, data on your own server: Twenty or EspoCRM self-hosted.
- Marketing and sales in one system: HubSpot, budgeting for Professional and its onboarding fee if you need its automation.
What is not in this list yet
Pipedrive's pricing page refused automated requests on our read date, and the Zoho CRM pages we could reach showed prices only in Indian rupees (Zoho's comparison page lists Standard at ₹800 per user per month on annual billing, and a free edition for 3 users). We will add both when their US-dollar prices can be confirmed at source. See the corrections log for every change to this page.

Key points
- Free CRM tiers end at 2 users (HubSpot) or 3 seats (Attio), so most teams of five pay from day one.
- At 10 seats on annual billing, costs ranged from $90 a month (Freshsales Growth, Twenty Cloud Pro) to $350 (Attio Plus).
- Attio Plus is capped at 10 seats; the 11th user moves the whole team to Pro at $79 per seat.
- HubSpot's Sales Hub Professional adds a required $1,500 one-time onboarding fee to a $90-plus seat price.
- Twenty and EspoCRM are AGPL-licensed and can be self-hosted with no licence fee; you pay for the server instead.
- Pipedrive and Zoho CRM are not included because their US-dollar prices could not be confirmed on the read date.
Questions
What is the cheapest CRM for a team of 10?
On our 27 October 2026 read, Freshsales Growth and Twenty Cloud Pro both cost $9 per seat per month on annual billing, so $90 a month for 10 people. Self-hosting Twenty or EspoCRM costs nothing in licence fees, but you pay for a server and the time to maintain it.
Is HubSpot CRM really free?
HubSpot's free tools are free for up to 2 users, with 1,000 contacts and 1,000 records per other standard object, according to its pricing page. A third user needs a paid seat. Starter lists at $20 per seat per month, and new customers were being offered a lower introductory price.
Why does the price jump when a team grows past 10 on Attio?
Attio's Plus plan is capped at 10 seats. A team of 11 must move to Pro, which costs $79 per seat per month on annual billing instead of $35. For 11 people that is $869 a month, compared with $350 for 10 people on Plus. Plan your seat count around that cap.
Can I host my own CRM instead of paying per seat?
Yes. Twenty and EspoCRM both publish their code under the AGPL-3.0 licence and can be installed on your own server with no per-seat licence fee. Twenty marks some enterprise features with a commercial licence. You take on hosting, backups and updates, which our hosting category covers.
Why are Pipedrive and Zoho CRM missing from this list?
We only publish prices we can read on the vendor's own page. Pipedrive's pricing page refused our requests on the read date, and Zoho CRM's pages we could reach showed prices in Indian rupees only. Both will be added once their US-dollar prices are confirmed at source.
