What you get, and the catch

Best for
Service businesses and small shops that want a polished site without managing hosting or plugins.
Watch out
The page text does not attach 'annual' or 'monthly' labels to each price; we inferred them from the page's own discount wording.

The Squarespace pricing page prints two prices for each plan and says "Pay annually to save up to 36%":

PlanLower priceHigher price
Basic$12/mo$19/mo
Core$17/mo$27/mo
Advanced$25/mo$36/mo

The page text we read did not attach a billing label to each figure. Because the page describes annual payment as the discounted option, we treat the lower figure as the annual price and the higher one as monthly. Basic works out at a 37% saving, roughly matching "up to 36%". Treat that labelling as our reading of the page, not a quoted fact.

Every plan starts with a free 14-day trial, and there is no permanent free plan.

The plans also differ in contributor seats, store transaction fees and included video. Those details came from a part of the page we could only read in summarised form, so we do not quote them here. They matter for a shop, and the store transaction fee in particular can outweigh the plan price difference, so read them on the page before choosing between Basic and Core.

For a brochure site: $12 a month on annual Basic. For a store: compare Core at $17 annually with a dedicated commerce platform in the website builders category.
